Purpose of organization
We are a coalition of progressive groups at the University of Houston, working together to help achieve each others goals and achieve our individual mission statements. We promote making U of H the premiere progressive school in the nation and ultimately in the State of Texas!
Specific functions
- Our membership is open to all progressive groups on campus
- We are a networking platform and conference for student organizations that share similar values and ideas.
- We will have a weekly/bi-monthly newsletter, listing all the upcoming events of our member groups sent to our student email list - free advertisement for members.
- Each member group guarantees at least one person from their organization will participate in other groups’ events, thereby increasing the size and strength of each member
- The coalition lobbies policy changes at U of H. Participation in this activity is not mandatory, but recommended.
- Newly formed progressive groups get a boost of members and old ones get a dose of fresh faces via membership.
- The coalition is responsible for creating and maintaining a progressive culture on campus, where infinite diversity in infinite complexity is embraced, cooperation is encouraged and the Cougar spirit is enthusiastically championed!
